For this solo exhibition at the Kunstverein Tiergarten, the scenographer and media artist Penelope Wehrli has created an arc of spatial design across all the rooms and window fronts of the gallery, combining poetic research with linguistic, visual, physical, and sound movements. Wehrli works with spatial perception as a precisely-balanced aesthetic experience. By superimposing the various levels, she designs artistically overarching spaces of imagination, which provocatively question one's own patterns of perception, and thus become an exploration of seeing, reading, and hearing — the basis of communication, understanding, and imagination. (Veronika Witte, curator) Wehrli brings the installation after which exhibition is titled together with earlier works, which have been adapted and further developed for Galerie Nord. The works overlap and connect spatially, acoustically, and in terms of content, and can be read as a score on questions such as: How much imagined, dreamed reality does it take to overcome social resistance and personal trials? How much fiction is there in every departure to become another?
